history of
citizen news

Constructed between 1930 and 1931 by architect Francis D. Rutherford, the two-story Citizen News building design reflects classic Art Deco style at the height of its era.

The building served as the headquarters for the Hollywood Citizen-News, one of the largest newspapers in Los Angeles, until the paper ceased publication in 1970.

In 2018, the Citizen News Building was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument.

a historic
        renovation

In 2006, new ownership of Citizen News invested in the revival of the historic building for modern use, and it underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation to better cater to the nearby media and entertainment industries.

Today's modern Citizen News building showcases a clean and bright, flexible multi-use event space with sky-high ceilings allowing for natural light to pour through the sky lights during the day, and the glowing lights of Hollywood to dance on the walls in the evening.
A flexible, fully customizable, turn-key event space in the heart of the entertainment district.
